Universal Vibratory Platform for Excavators
AUGUST, 2006 - MBW raises productivity in trench compaction with its Universal Vibratory Platform. The boom-mounted vibratory platform can be fitted with an assortment of vibratory wheels or vibratory plates, depending on soil type and work area constraints. Which ever compactor is affixed to the vibratory platform, the combination of vibratory forces (10,000 lbs CF) and down pressure (to 33,000 lbs) makes quick work of the compaction task at hand.
Dramatic gains in productivity are the result of a patent pending advance in MBW's compression isolation design. Heavy duty compression mounts isolate higher amplitude vibration between boom and compactor under relatively low down pressure. As up or down pressure increases, independent secondary isolation systems are engaged. These systems distribute increasing static load over comparatively huge surface areas effectively isolating the boom yet minimizing additional deflection in the combined isolation system.
In the case of boom-mounted plates, the full down pressure of the host machine can now be brought to bear. This is a significant development in that traditional shear type isolators long used on boom-mounted plates have always limited the amount of down pressure that could be applied.
In the case of Vibratory Wheels down pressure and vibration are coupled with the cycle speed of the boom. Further, each vibratory wheel is fitted with an integral backfill leveling blade. Productivity soars - many times the production rates of typical trench rollers – with compaction specs often achieved in a single cycle of the boom.
The Universal Vibratory Platform also brings a previously unknown level of versatility to trench compaction. Because vibration and down pressure are variably coupled, the full range of soil types are handled. Additionally, Plates and Wheels can be quickly interchanged on site to deal with changing work area constraints and conditions of compaction.
Vibratory Plate and Wheel options for the Universal Plate are available in 24" and 36" working widths.
